The surname Cannell is also amongst the most common on the island.

The Cannell family connection dates back to the marriage of Isabel Cannell to Patrick Mylvorrey in 1779.

The name Cannell is peculiar to the Isle of Man and is among the most common Manx surnames. It is derived from ' Mac Conaill, 'Connall's son,' though it may sometimes be a contraction of Mac Domhnaill, 'Domhnall's son.'

Because the Cannell name is so prevalent in the Isle of Man there are many different families and stories. At this stage not a lot is known about our Cannell family.
