The Cleator family connection dates from the late 18th century when Ann Cleater married Patrick Mylvorrey.
Cleator is probably a name of English extraction, though McCletter being found in 1511 would seem to point to a Celtic origin. There are origins in Cumberland.
At this stage little else is known about our Cleator ancestors.
